Patta, the Amsterdam-based streetwear brand, has a long-standing history of creating iconic collaborations with Nike, dating back to their first partnership in 2006. Almost two decades later, they continue to push the boundaries of sneaker design, this time reimagining the classic Nike Air Huarache. The upcoming Patta x Nike Air Huarache 20Y24 is a reinterpretation and a fusion of various elements from retro Nike sneakers.
This new sneaker features a jersey mesh base, evoking a sense of nostalgia while embracing modern aesthetics. Encased within this mesh is a neoprene bootie, enveloped by smooth leather overlays that add a layer of sophistication to the design. The silhouette's base draws inspiration from the Air Huarache Plus, while the tooling is from the Pegasus 40, blending different eras of Nike's design history.
The colorway is a tasteful mix of grey, white, and pink, with grey dominating the mesh and pink accents adorning the neoprene and nylon straps. This blend of hues is further highlighted on the co-branded pull tab at the heel. A striking feature is the black panther logo on the tongue, encircled by the text “Air Huarache By Patta.” Completing the design is a light orewood brown-colored midsole and outsole borrowed from the Pegasus 40, seamlessly uniting the past and present.
The Patta x Nike Air Huarache 20Y24 White is set to release in 2024. It will be available at Patta, Nike, and SNKRS, in-store and online. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $160.
