Houston-based sneaker boutique Premium Goods has partnered with adidas through the Cornerstone Community initiative to present an automotive-inspired take on the Campus 00s.
After founding the business 20 years ago, owner Jennifer Ford has steered the boutique from one generation to the next, independently making sure the streets of H-Town had access to the latest fits and trends while always ensuring the store gave back to the community. This time, Premium Goods partners with adidas Cornerstone Community to host a car show at The Asylum Car Garage that will double up as a launch event for the PG x Campus 00s Auto Show. Along with introducing the sneaker, there will be live music, an extraordinary lineup of cars curated by the PG team, and much more at the event. But the sneaker is being utilized as a tool to connect with the young motorheads in the Texan city, with a percentage of each sale being donated to Dekaney High School's Auto Tech program, which supports initiatives such as car care clinics, safety workshops, and driver's education programs.
The Premium Goods x adidas Campus 00s Auto Club arrives with an upper constructed of cracked cream leather. This design element intentionally gives an imperfect finish, as only some cars have a fresh wrap or paint job. Wide Three Stripes branding along the midfoot is adorned in a vivid reddish/orange hue, also seen on the back heel tabs. A chunky woven tongue is overlaid with fat laces, as is the Campus 00s traditional aesthetic. A hidden pocket is secreted within, which gives the appearance of a glove compartment when opened. Dual-branded Velcro tongue patches carry Houston and PG denotations. The number 04 is applied race car style on the lateral heels, a nod to the year PG was founded. Underfoot, a gum-colored rubber sole finishes off the classic look.
The Premium Goods x adidas Campus 00s Auto Club is set to release on October 19, 2024, to attendees of The Asylum Car Garage show. A wider release through Premium Goods in-store and online will follow on October 24. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $130.
