Signature silhouettes for decades have primarily come from professional athletes in men’s leagues like the NBA, MLB, and NFL, though nowadays brands are focusing on bridging the gap between women’s and men’s sports. Speaking of the WNBA, we’ve recently seen players like Candace Parker and Elena Delle Donne get signature sneakers with adidas and Nike respectively, but Puma was the first to give a woman a signature sneaker in over a decade with the launch of Breanna Stewart’s Puma Stewie 1 in the Quiet Fire colorway. Now for the second rendition of the model, Puma is flipping the script and showcasing Stewart's disruptive nature on the court with the Causing Trouble colorway.
Engineered mesh in a gradient purple takes over the upper while fused and TPU overlays help give support to the low-cut basketball-ready sneaker. Along the midfoot, the iconic Puma formstrip is constructed of TPU and comes in black, matching the lace set and tongue nearby. For the uppermost eyelets, a leather panel in a sky blue shade contrasts both the purple gradient of the mesh and the pink molded TPU overlay on the heel. Closing out the upper is Breanna Stewart’s logo featured on the tongue and insole while the entire design is finished off by a pink NITRO foam cushioned midsole and outsole.
The Puma Stewie 1 Causing Trouble W is set to launch on November 3rd, 2022, through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
