Reykjavík-born and London-based RANRA is looking to put its own spin on the Cross Pro with its upcoming RANRA x Salomon Cross Pro "Peat." Marking the European label's very first sneaker collaboration ever, it places an emphasis on sustainability and eco-friendliness in a way that no other sneaker has ever achieved before. If that sounds like a bit of you, then make sure you read on to find out more.
Crafted from heel to toe in natural materials, peat-hued leather makes up the sneaker's top half, while the bottom is submerged in a contrast major brown. These colors have been hand-dyed using Icelandic Elftingar, and treated by hand in small batches so that every pair will look slightly different from each other. Rubber and cork are also used throughout the collaboration, and Ventile cotton canvas elements offer additional versatility and support. To round it all off, unlike other sneakers that are fused using standard adhesives, every panel on the Cross Pro is stitched together for a more organic aesthetic.
The RANRA x Salomon Cross Pro Peat is a lesson in environmentally-friendly sneakers. Set to release on November 3rd, 2022, they'll be available in men's sizing for around $148 at RANRA, Salomon, and select retailers online and in-store worldwide.
