Reebok's deep-seated association with the NBA is a testament to the brand's influence and legacy in basketball culture. The SuperSonics, Seattle's beloved but now-defunct NBA team, had several icons that etched their names in the annals of sports history. Among them was Shawn Kemp, who famously wore the Reebok Kamikaze II, now known as the Reebok Hurrikaze II. In a tribute to this legacy and to evoke the vibrant history of the Seattle SuperSonics, Reebok is set to release the Hurrikaze II Seattle Pack this October.
The upcoming Seattle Pack is a nostalgic nod, offering two renditions of the Hurrikaze II: the OG Inverse and the Alternate. The OG Inverse crafts a fresh twist by swapping the original black and white placements yet maintains the signature green hints on its branding and parts of the sole. Its counterpart, the Alternate, draws inspiration directly from the SuperSonics' distinctive alternate jersey, rendered in bold green and red. Dominated by green nubuck, the sneaker is accentuated by fiery red on its overlays, tongue, and sole. Splashes of yellow invigorate the design further, marking the tongue tag's Reebok branding, the Vector logo near the toe, and the heel. Beneath all this is the reliably comfortable EVA-cushioned midsole, ensuring style meets function.
The Reebok Hurrikaze II Seattle will release October 19, 2023, via Reebok and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130 for both colorways.
