With Jordan Brand ramping up for the next generation of NBA superstars, players like Jayson Tatum are already set to receive signature silhouettes and continue to get PE colorways on the premier models in Jordan’s lineup of offerings. One player that has constantly been given special edition kicks is Rui Hachimura, the Japanese-born forward for the Washington Wizards, who has received themed colorways on silhouettes like the Air Jordan 8. With his "Crane" colorway of the AJ 36 already seen, it was recently revealed that he would be getting another "Crane" colorway on an iconic Air Jordan model. This model? The Air Jordan 1 Low.
Both silhouettes come with the same graphic pattern of floral print and cranes covering the mostly-black sneaker, though each model is radically different when it comes to construction. Starting with the Air Jordan 1, the classic leather construction is present on the mudguard, eyestays, quarter panel, and collar, all of which host the aforementioned graphic while the toebox gets a suede makeover in all-black. Tonal laces match the base color as does the tongue while golden hits accent atop the tongue tag and piping the metallic Swoosh. Even the Wings logo on the heel joins in on this regal makeover while the entire design is completed by a white rubber midsole and sage green rubber outsole.
For the AJ 36, red accents burst off the mainly black sneaker while the underlay features the aforementioned crane and floral print in various shades. Golden accents land on branding details, found on the tongue and heel, while the eyestays and vamp also receive this regal look. The entire design is rounded out by the AJ 36 midsole, featuring a full-length Zoom Air unit with a cutout across the center, paired with a clear semi-translucent rubber outsole.
The Rui Hachimura x Air Jordan Crane Pack will partially be available to the public with the AJ 36 seeing a release overseas on September 30th, 2022 through select retailers with a wider release set for later in the. Unfortunately, the Air Jordan 1 Low will remain exclusive to Hachimura.
