Sacai has been a key partner for Nike in the last few years with some of the most popular releases of the year coming from the dynamic duo. In recent memory, the two came together for a series of Nike Cortez releases and a slew of triple-branded Blazers with help from fragment and KAWS, though we’re still looking forward to their Air Magamscape Mid. Staying in the realm of archival silhouettes, sacai is bringing its unique design language to the new Nike LDVaporwaffle Mix with the help of Jean Paul Gaultier. The three collaborators are also planning on releasing a Green Gusto iteration of the same silhouette.
Seen here in a clean White colorway, the model features a woven upper that appears like a wicker basket with grey hits seen throughout. This checkerboard-esque pattern varies between textile patterns and shades of white/grey while we see the classic double motif from sacai in the form of the suede eyestays and white laces. A double tongue is also present with a co-branded Nike and sacai tag present on the front with sacai and Jean Paul Gaultier on the second tongue tag. Underfoot sits a stacked midsole with a rubber outsole containing a waffle traction pattern.
The Jean Paul Gaultier x sacai x Nike LDVaporwaffle Mix White is set to release November 22, 2023, exclusively via Jean Paul Gaultier's website. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $250.
