Salehe Bembury has become a prominent footwear industry figure known for his innovative designs and unique collaborations. His partnership with Crocs, under the Pollex Pod Collection, has been a massive success, introducing fans to distinctive silhouettes like the Pollex Clog, Pollex Slide, Pollex Saru, and Pollex Juniper. As Bembury continues to push the boundaries of footwear design, he recently took to Instagram to reveal his latest creation—the Pollex Cypress. This reveal follows up on other projects by Salehe, including a Puma partnership and a New Balance 991v2.
The Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Cypress is a high-top model that merges functionality with Bembury's signature design elements. The sneaker features a canvas upper around the collar, reminiscent of classic Chuck Taylors, dressed in a striking red hue. This vibrant canvas is contrasted by white laces and a green tongue tag that bears Crocs, Salehe Bembury, and Cypress branding, adding a pop of color and a nod to the designer's distinct aesthetic. The lower portion of the shoe transitions into a clog-like base constructed from foam. Unlike his traditional clogs, the Pollex Cypress features a design that resembles a rainboot, providing extra coverage and protection. Completing the look is a new version of Bembury's iconic 3D fingerprint design on the sole, rendered in a vibrant green hue that ties the entire silhouette together.
The Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Cypress Red will release in 2024, likely exclusively through Salehe Bembury's Be A Spunge website. Pricing details have yet to be announced.
