Foam slip-on silhouettes took the sneaker world by storm throughout 2021 and 2022 with the likes of adidas Yeezy’s Slide and Foam RNNR design. Once brands caught on to the trend, we saw almost every major footwear label introduce their version of a foam-constructed slip-on. Crocs debuted what is arguably just as hot as Yeezy’s silhouettes, the Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Clog, during this era. As time passed, more and more colorways of the design hit the market, and releases became easier to obtain. Now it seems the design needs some revitalization as recent restocks took much longer to sell out, indicating the enthusiasm the silhouette once drew is no longer present.
First teased during Salehe’s fashion show with Moncler during Paris Fashion Week, the celebrated designer showcased a “Citrus Milk” colorway of a new collaborative silhouette, the Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Slide.
Keeping the same fingerprint-inspired design as the Clog version, the Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Slide transforms the silhouette into, obviously, a slide design. A forefoot strap contains the only hit of the 3D fingerprint design on the upper, with the footbed borrowed from the twos Pollex Clog design. We also see the continuation of the fingerprint motif on the outsole. Co-branded details for both Salehe and Crocs appear on the footbed and on the lateral sidewall beside the forefoot strap. All of this comes in a tonal “citrus milk” color that resembles a peachy orange hue.
The Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Slide Citrus Milk will release on May 25, 2023 through beaspunge.com while a raffle through Crocs’ website will take place on June 1. Releasing in unisex sizing, the retail price set at $70.
