Korean-based outdoor fashion label San San Gear, known for integrating technical design and functionality, has just landed its first collaboration with Asics. Applying its expertise in utilitarian design, San San Gear has three upcoming colorways on the newly introduced Gel-Terrain: Phantom Green, Bronze Green, and Black Grey Violet.
The San San Gear x Asics Gel-Terrain Pack is a testament to the brand's commitment to technical excellence. The sneakers feature a ripstop base for durability, complemented by no-sew overlays that enhance the sleek design. One of the standout elements of this collaboration is the speed lacing setup, ensuring a secure and adjustable fit for any adventure. Each colorway presents a tonal palette, with subtle accents along the Asics tiger stripe and toe overlays, adding a touch of style to the rugged design.
Branding details are thoughtfully incorporated throughout the sneaker. San San Gear’s logo adorns the tongue tag of the right shoe, while the Asics logo is placed on the opposite shoe, creating a unique split branding. The insole also reflects this dual branding approach. Additionally, the lateral heel of the right shoe features San San Gear text, while the left shoe displays the standard Gel-Terrain branding. Underfoot, the sneakers utilize a tonal midsole derived from the GT-2000 8 and a matching rubber outsole, ensuring comfort and traction on various terrains.
The San San Gear x Asics Gel-Terrain Pack will release on August 9, 2024, through San San Gear, with a wider release via Asics, and select retailers online and in-store in the coming weeks. Coming in men’s sizing, retail is set at $150. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
