Saucony’s stock has risen in the world of hype sneakers, as their collaborative efforts with Jae Tips have opened the eyes of sneakerheads to the running brand. Playing into the chunky Y2K mesh runner trend, Saucony launched the Grid NXT silhouette, a sneaker that calls back to the tech of the mid-2000s and is inspired by the brand’s performance line. Saucony has given the sneaker two makeovers perfect for the fall season.
Both pairs feature the same multi-layered and multi-material upper in two color schemes, Dark Grey Silver and Brown Silver. Tonal hues for each respective color grace the suede panels along the toe, eyestays, and heel, while the base has a grid mesh pattern. Reinforced TPU film lines the toe and runs back to the collar, passing a semi-translucent TPU overlay and a silver Saucony logo on the midfoot. More branding for Saucony is found on the tongue, heel, and insole. Below, the silhouette features a chunky foam construction with rigid TPU reinforcements near the heel for stability and two large foam pods near the heel for added comfort. Rounding out the look is the tonal rubber outsole.
The Saucony Grid NXT in Dark Grey Silver and Brown Silver has already launched in Europe, with a worldwide release planned for October 2024. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
