After only one silhouette with Nike, the Nike Air Max 1/97, Sean Wotherspoon found a home over at their rival, adidas. The vintage junkie and consignment shop owner has released his takes on classic adidas silhouettes and introduced his own models, all with an eco-friendly “thrifted” vibe. Now adding to his arsenal, Sean revealed to the world through his latest Instagram post the upcoming Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Orketro.
Seeing its release earlier in 2022, the adidas Orketro is inspired by 90s runners with a futuristic spin through its multi-layered approach and distinct linework. Sean adds his favorite motif of springtime shades, flowers, and eco-friendly materials to the silhouette thanks to its pink mesh base accented by shades of black, blue, and cream. Around the toe, a linear pattern of grey suede runs back to the midfoot, complemented by blue embroidery and Sean Wotherspoon's signature just above. Housing the white laces is a material often found on Wotherspoon collabs, a corduroy in black. Replacing the adidas branding atop the tongue is a flower stamped in blue against a light pink backdrop. Underfoot and completing the look is a cream adiPRENE+ cushioned midsole that gets hints of pink, blue, and green, while being paired to a multi-color rubber outsole.
The Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Orketro is set to release in 2023 through adidas Confirmed and select Three Stripes retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is still TBA.
