Thanks to her successive collaborations with Nike, Serena Williams isn't just a name that resonates in the tennis world and the fashion industry. Under the Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC), the tennis sensation has ventured into streetwear, creating notable, sporty, and stylish collections. For her upcoming SWDC collection, Serena has shifted her attention to the iconic Nike Air Max 1, releasing it alongside eagerly-awaited models like the Dunk Low Disrupt and the Huarache.
SWDC's take on the Nike Air Max 1 showcases an impeccable blend of materials and colors. The sneaker's foundation contains a white leather mudguard punctuated by a subtle teal mini Swoosh. On the upper, suede in vibrant orange envelopes the perforated toebox, while puffier suede sections in the same hue grace the midfoot and heel. The sneaker's standout feature is undoubtedly the topographic-inspired design on the midfoot's Swoosh, complemented by shaggy suede in an alternative shade of orange around the vamp and collar. Rounding off the design are the insoles that proudly flaunt the Serena branding. Below, a pristine white Air Max 1 midsole houses a teal Air unit in the heel, matched with a dependable white rubber outsole.
The SWDC x Nike Air Max 1 W will release August 31, 2023, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
