Recently introduced in 2022, the New Balance 2002R Mule has popped up in dozens of colorways. Releases have been sporadic with a large chunk coming via overseas retailers, though it seems like one of the most well-known EU-based boutiques is getting its own colorway. Recently revealed, SNS and New Balance are teaming up on the 2002R Mule that pays homage to the original NB Mule.
Suede and mesh construction takes over the silhouette with forest green shades found all throughout. On the toe, a greyish-green mesh compliments the suede overlays featured atop and around this panel while the “tongue” forgoes any laces and hosts split “New Balance Running” and “SNS” branding. Along the midfoot, the “N” logo borrows from the original 990v3 Mule by using that model's version of the branding. On the insole, a co-branded SNS and New Balance graphic sit atop the tonal green textile while the entire model is finished by the chunky foam midsole in cream and a black rubber outsole.
Paired with the sneaker is a selection of Japanese-crafted goods that come inspired by the Mule itself, including incense, cups, and socks.
The SNS x New Balance 2002R Mule Goods For Home is slated to release on September 22nd, 2022 exclusively through a raffle on SNS’ mobile app. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
