After decades in the vault, the Nike Mac Attack has finally made its return. Following the release of the “OG” rendition, Nike has big plans for the silhouette outside of inline releases like the “Red Crush” pair. Collaborators including Travis Scott and Social Status are lending their touch to the model. While the James Whitner-led Social Status already has had four colorways revealed, another rendition has been added to the list with the “Silver Linings" colorway.
Social Status’ take on the Nike Mac Attack presents a sophisticated, vintage color palette of grey and silver. The sneaker maintains its usual mesh base layer, while we see cracked suede overlays appear throughout. Paneling remains standard for the Mac Attack, though Social Status does change the branding details atop the tongue and heel. Split between both sneakers are symbols for both Nike and Social Status. Silver details on the collar, Swoosh, and heel can be torn away to reveal a secondary color below. As of this writing, the color underneath is unknown. Underfoot sits an aged midsole and grey outsole. All of this comes packaged in a special co-branded box.
The Social Status x Nike Mac Attack Silver Linings will release through Social Status on July 14. An in-store and online raffle will begin on July 6. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
