The Nike Mac Attack Year of the Snake Releases February 2025

2023 marked the return of a cult classic Nike tennis sneaker, John McEnroe’s Nike Mac Attack, with The Swoosh making a big push for the silo thanks to collaborations with Travis Scott and Social Status. While the model had moderate success off-rip, it’s easy to find pairs at outlets and under retail online, and it seems that Nike understands its place in the lineup, as the last colorway to drop was in October. Following up on this Taupe Grey colorway is a pair that looks to celebrate the Year of the Snake in 2025.

Though not as direct an homage to the Chinese New Year as Jordan Brand’s collection or the array of Nike Sportswear products, this Nike Mac Attack joins other pairs like the Dunk Low, Air Force 1 Low, and Air Max DN with its faux snakeskin upper. The material coats the mudguard and eyestays in a stark white finish, while the faux snakeskin overlays on the heel come in a mixture of mineral teal and melon tint. Other paneling on the upper sticks is of more traditional construction, mesh along the toe and tongue and leather on the Swoosh, midfoot, and collar.

Up top, the iconic checkerboard tongue tag features the two contrasting shades, mineral teal and melon tint, alongside a black Nike logo embroidered in its center. Other Nike branding details include the aforementioned Swoosh, which takes on a white leather finish on the midfoot, and black Nike text back on the heel tab. Underfoot sits a white rubber midsole paired with a black rubber outsole.

The Nike Mac Attack Year of the Snake will release February 12, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $130.
