A not-so-silent sleeper in the footwear industry, Salomon has been making waves through their technically-focused outdoor-inspired footwear designs that have transcended into a fashion symbol for those in the know. With this rise in fame, brands from across the globe have linked up with the French-based label including and wander, Bodega, and the infamous Kar L’Art de L’Automobile vehicle-inspired pack. Looking back at key collaborators for the brand, one stands out amongst the rest - The Broken Arm. This Parisian-based fashion boutique has had the pleasure of working with Salomon for the last five years and now is restocking a previously released collab on the Salomon X-DESALPES.
Drawing inspiration from the mountain-dweller party dubbed Désalpe, the sneaker takes on its outdoor-ready design while featuring a color palette you’d find in nature with its use of blues, browns, and whites. Throughout the upper, a Gore-Tex suede in a lake-like blue hue comes with accenting stitching details throughout while the bottom three eyelets get a multi-color makeover. These host a set of black/brown laces while the tongue partakes mainly in an earth tone shade and features floral details along the spine and atop the tongue itself. This pattern continues onto the pull tab and gets accenting by a large baby blue leather panel along the profile and the brown sockliner. Rounding out the look is the black midsole and lugged black rubber outsole ready to hit the trails.
The Broken Arm x Salomon X-DESALPES is set to release on December 1st, 2022 through The Broken Arm online. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $196.50 after taxes.
