From the courts of the '80s to the fashion-forward streets of today, adidas remains synonymous with innovation and collaboration. Teaming up again with the iconic "The Simpsons," adidas relives moments of nostalgia and humor for sneakerheads and series enthusiasts alike. Following the much-acclaimed Homer Simpson Stan Smith, the collaboration gets richer, delving into a memorable episode from season 8 that introduced the world to the radical Poochie.
The spotlight falls upon the adidas Rivalry series, drawing inspiration directly from the irreverent trio: Itchy, Scratchy, and the skateboard-wielding Poochie, the latter of whom is brought to life on the Pro Model 80. The Rivalry High effortlessly captures Scratchy’s essence, reflecting the cat’s colors, and even boasts an intricate embroidery of the character on its lateral heel. Its counterpart, the Rivalry Low, dons the vibrant hues of Itchy, the mischievous mouse, with the same attention to detail showcased in the embroidered representation on its lateral heel. Both pairs share tongue tags featuring the characters and rest on a tonal cream-white sole, adding an elegant simplicity to these character-rich designs.
For Poochie, his coolness is portrayed via a black, white, and orange Por Model 80. A leather finish is applied to most of the upper, which is primarily doused in black, while the rubberized shell toe comes in a cream hue. Suede hits the tongue and matches the orange found on the lace set and adidas branding. On the medial side, a zipper is included to allow for an easy off-and-on experience. Final details include the blue square pattern on the sockliner, the purple suede on the heel tab, and a debossed nod to Poochie on the lateral heel.
The Simpsons x adidas Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Pack is set to release on October 7, 2023, through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. The retail price has yet to be announced.
