Founded in 2009 as a streetwear brand in Korea, thisisneverthat elevated into the high fashion realm once they secured a proper runway show in 2018. Since then, the brand has been tapped by New Balance to work on a duo of New Balance 2002R’s and a full apparel collection. Joining forces once again, thisisneverthat and New Balance have yet another capsule with two New Balance 860v2’s included.
Staying true to the ethos of the brand, thisisneverthat dresses both pairs in this collection in neutral tones. Coming in either black or white, perforated leather dresses the base of the upper with overlays made of suede and smooth leather. Along the midfoot, standard New Balance branding is present with 3M reflective details. Co-branding between the two brands sits on the tongue tag in red. Rounding out both pairs is the NERGY cushioned midsole and outsole matching the upper of each pair.
Alongside the two pairs of New Balance 860v2’s, a co-branded clothing collection will be available including a sweatsuit, sweatpants, button up tee, varsity jacket and standard tee’s.
The thisisneverthat x New Balance 860v2 and accompanying apparel collection are set to release February 9th, 2022 in the US through thisisneverthat.com. A worldwide release will follow on February 10th online and in-store at select New Balance retailers. Coming in men’s sizing, a retail price is to be announced.
