While many might think the inspiration comes from Michael Jordan's high school, Laney High, this latest Air Jordan 1 Low is a tribute to Travis' alma mater, Elkins High School, in Missouri City, Texas.
In a heartwarming gesture, Travis Scott gifted the entire 2024 senior class of Elkins High School with his unreleased Air Jordan 1 Low Canary. Social media lit up with images of hundreds of gift bags, each containing a pair of these exclusive sneakers. This generous gift underscores Travis' connection to his roots and his desire to give back to the community that shaped him. Scott was also honored by Missouri City in 2018 when the mayor presented La Flame with an honorary key to the city.

The Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low Canary (W) features a predominantly canary yellow hue, a vibrant departure from his usual palette. The sneaker is crafted with premium materials, including soft leather, creating a luxurious yet sporty aesthetic. The iconic reverse Swoosh, a signature of Travis' Jordan collaborations, is prominently displayed in blue, which contrasts the bright yellow overlays. White accents are placed on the toe and midfoot, and the woven Cactus Jack-branded tag is on the tongue. Travis Scott's Cactus Jack branding is also found on the heel, and the look is completed by a white midsole and gum rubber outsole.
Unfortunately for the rest of us who weren’t gifted a pair by Travis himself, the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low Canary (W) will be released May 25, 2024. The sneakers will be available through Travis Scott's website, Nike SNKRS, and select retailers both online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail is set at $150, with prices set at $60 for preschool sizes and $50 for toddler sizes.
