From music, clothing, and sneaker releases, it seems that no matter what Travis Scott touches, it turns into gold. After a long hiatus, Scott and Nike are set to release a duo of Nike Air Max 1’s and two colorways of the Nike Air Trainer 1. Aside from the “Grey Haze” colorway, Scott goes back to his iconic earth-tone vibes on this “Light Chocolate” colorway.
As with the “Grey Haze” pair, the silhouette comes constructed out of canvas across the entire upper, this time dressed in various shades of browns and blacks with accenting pink hits throughout. Working from heel to toe, light brown underlays transition into deeper browns once reaching the toe. Unlike the other pair in this pack, the Nike Swoosh on the lateral midfoot is in standard form, appearing in a light sienna while the medial side comes reversed. Further branding comes courtesy of the lockdown strap and heel, both home to “Cact.us Corporation” text. Tonal laces speckled with hits of pink work up to the pink “CC” logo and through the similarly shaded uppermost TPU eyelet.
On the utilitarian front, Scott adds buttons throughout the upper to allow for a tonal sheath to be placed, covering the front half of the sneaker. Back on the heel, a zipper allows for storage options, though space is quite limited. Rounding out the look is the two-tone brown midsole and rubber outsole combo.
The Travis Scott x Nike Air Trainer 1 Light Chocolate is set to release via raffle on May 20th, 2022 at shop.travisscott.com. A week later on May 27th, a wider release through Nike and select retailers is expected. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
