Originally set to follow-up his Nike Air Max 1s, Travis Scott looked to the classic Nike Air Trainer 1 as the next silhouette he would apply his artistic touch on. First seen during Astroweek at the Cactus Jack Foundation Fall Classic Softball Game in cleated form, the first two colorways have now been unveiled. One pair comes in “Coriander” while the other comes in “Light Smoke Grey.”
During the softball game, Harlem-based rapper Sheck Wes was seen wearing the “Coriander” edition, modified into cleat form. Afterwards, both pairs could be seen on display at Astroworld Fest. Both pairs feature “Cactus Corporation” branding on the forefoot strap and back heels, exterior rivets, rope laces and a zippered pocket on the back heel.
The “Coriander” edition features a combination of various shades of brown throughout the upper which is made up of premium materials such as leather and corduroy with perforations on the toebox and tongue. Scott’s signature backwards “Swoosh” is found on the medial sides while a gum rubber outsole finishes things off. The “Light Smoke Grey” pair mimics the “Coriander’s,” but in grey. Honeydew yellow accents, chlorophyll branding on the forefoot strap and tongue complete the look. Both pairs feature removable shrouds as well.
The Travis Scott x Nike Air Trainer 1 Mid CC “Light Smoke Grey” and “Coriander” were originally set to release in 2021. However, due to recent events, their release date has been postponed indefinitely. They will launch at Space Village in Houston on May 20th, 2022. A wider release via Nike as well as select retailers both in-store and online will follow on May 27th. Retail pricing is set at $140 for men's sizing.
