After the postal service linked up with Vans at the end of 2021 and shut down the unofficial Nike tribute on the AF1 Experimental, it seems they’re venturing into footwear once more. What you’re looking at is not a part of the new USPS uniform, but actually a collaboration between the oldest American institution and Japan’s most famous streetwear brand, BAPE on a set of BAPE STA colorways.
Coming covered in patriotic shades of red, white, and blue leather, USPS branding is sprinkled throughout. You can find various forms you’d fill out when dealing with the service, from a change of address form to the design of the Priority Mail envelopes, all accented by mismatched star logos on the midfoot and gilded APE heads on the lace dubrae. USPS branding details land on the heel overlay while BAPE STA text appears back on the heel overlay.. Rounding out the look is the classic BAPE STA midsole coming in white paired with a blue rubber outsole.
The USPS x A Bathing Ape BAPE STA and its matching shirt are set to release on August 28th through BAPE online and in-store. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price for the BAPE STA's is set at ¥23,100 (approx $170 USD). Keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app for updates on this USPS collaboration and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
