After introducing the Vans Zahba earlier this year as its newest skate silhouette, Vans is now enlisting pro-skater Beatrice Domond the mid-top variant. Inspired by leaves changing color each fall in New York City parks, Domond applies a green color scheme with gold accents not only to the Zahba Mid, but also the Skate Style 54.
Olive green brushed suede covers the heel, toe cap, and eyestay of Domond's Zarba Mid. The shade then appears slightly lighter on the collar, toe box, and beneath the black Jazz Stripe. Both the tongue and laces also come in black, the latter of which sports metallic gold branding to match both "Beatrice" debossing on the heel and an additional Vans logo directly beneath on the black midsole. The sockliner, too, appears in black, while a green-and-black checkerboard tag hangs off the eyestay. Inside, Domond gets her own Cleopatra graphic in gold atop the black insole.
The Zahba Mid packs more tech than it immediately lets on. IMPACTWAFFLE provides impact protection and board feel, with VR3CUSH dual-density foam for additional cushioning. The sneaker is rounded out with its black SICKSTICK sole featuring DURACAP toecaps to protect the shoe during repeated flip tricks.
Domond’s Skate Style 53 takes on the same color scheme with a tad less gold. Premium olive suede covers the entirety of the upper, with contrast coming from the black sockliner and the same hangtag as the Zahba Mid dangling from the collar. The same gold Vans mark returns on the black midsole's heel, as well as the insole's graphic. Should you like, you could add more gold yourself via the penny loafer pocket above the tongue.
The Vans Zahba Mid Beatrice Domond and Skate Style 53 Beatrice Domond release July 13 via Vans and select retailers, online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail prices are $120 and $75, respectively.
