Victor Wembanyama Debuts a Nike GT Hustle 3 Wookie of the Year PE

Coming off a stellar rookie campaign that saw the French superstar win the Rookie of the Year award, Victor Wembanyama is entering his sophomore season in the NBA with more to prove. As with many of the top talent in the NBA, Wemby is signed to Nike and has been the face of the GT Hustle line, previously receiving a PE colorway of the GT Hustle 2 that hit shelves earlier in the year. However, over the weekend, Wemby debuted a new player-exclusive iteration of the GT Hustle 3 that takes on themes from one of his favorite movie franchises, Star Wars, with a Wookie of the Year colorway.
Like everyone’s favorite Wookie Chewbacca, Wemby’s GT Hustle 3 PE comes covered in brown faux fur, honoring his Rookie of the Year award. Below this is likely an engineered knit used on other GT Hustle 3s, while we see a metallic Swoosh attached via a brown loop. Along the top of the tongue is another metallic branding hit, this time with Wemby’s alien logo surrounded by brown fur. Breaking up the primarily brown finish are hits of black around the heel, which is covered in faux fur, as well as the sole unit. Inside the midsole sits a full-length sewn-in Zoom Air Stroble unit and two Zoom Air units stacked in the forefoot. Finishing the design is a grippy black rubber outsole.
