Tokyo-based fashion label Wacko Maria, led by Keiji Ishizuka and Atsuhiko Mori, collaborates again with iconic skateboard shoe brand Vans. Following their previous successful ventures, including last August’s Vans Authentic release and a recent collaboration with Dr. Martens, the duo is back to revamp the classic Vans Authentic silhouette.
The collaboration introduces the Authentic model in a trio of colorways: White, Brown, and Green. Each version features a striking leopard print in black, boldly laid across the canvas base. This animalistic pattern offers a distinctive look, blending Wacko Maria's flair for the dramatic with the understated cool of the Vans Authentic.
The careful balance of exuberant design and classic sneaker aesthetics makes this pack truly stand out. The insoles bear co-branded details, showcasing the collaboration between Wacko Maria and Vans. This subtle nod is the only explicit branding from Wacko Maria, as the rest of the shoe preserves the traditional Vans styling. Each pair in this collection is finished with a clean white midsole and is paired with a gum outsole.
The Wacko Maria x Vans V44 Authentic Leopard Pack will release on December 2, 2023, through Wacko Maria, Vans, and select retailers both online and in-store.
