Why So Sad? x Nike SB Bruin High Drops November 4th

2022 has been a solid year for Nike SB collaborations, with the likes of Neck Face, HUF, and more planning to release their versions of skateboarding-focused silhouettes. John Rattray's Why So Sad? is the latest Nike SB collaborator with a newly announced Why So Sad? Nike SB Bruin High and a Nike SB Dunk Low Why So Sad? on the way.

Although the Bruin as a silhouette has been around since the early 1970s, Nike SB takes this heritage design and tailors it to the needs of the modern skateboarder. For this collaborative colorway, a monochromatic brown leather takes over the entire sneaker, sans the heel tab and suede heel overlay, with tonal-brown stitching differentiating each panel. Running up the brown tongue is a set of white cotton laces, stopping just below the Nike SB tongue tag with Why So Sad? branding located on the rear. Along the midfoot, the Nike Swoosh gets dressed in a stark white with yellow piping on the edges of the leather. Back on the heel tab is an orange smooth leather with a “?” embroidered into the center in a contrasting yellow. Just below this is a suede overlay matching the brown found throughout the sneaker, housing a bird skateboarding on the left pair and the same anthropomorphic animal on the right riding a bicycle. Rounding out this collab is the vulcanized rubber midsole and outsole in a light gum.

The Why So Sad? x Nike SB Zoom Bruin High is slated to release in 2022 through select Nike SB skate shops and a possible online release through Nike and select retailers. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $90.
