The world of wrestling has given us some of pop culture's most iconic moments, characters, and much more from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to various memes spawning from matches. Over at the competing organization, AEW, sneaker moments have played out in the ring with the most recent being Action Bronson debuting his New Balance 990v6 collaboration during last week's match. A dynamic duo that has previously rocked pairs like the Travis Scott x Fragment x Air Jordan 1 High, the Young Bucks, have just landed a collaboration in the sneaker industry courtesy of Diadora on their Basket Mid silhouette.
Bringing the wild flair of wrestling to life in sneaker form, the silhouette comes equipped with a variety of colors and patterns across its leather, suede, and mesh construction. Starting on the toe, splatter paint in a multi-color mix sits atop black leather while the nearby eyestays and Diadora logo get a monochrome black makeover. A bright pink tongue hosts a set of two-tone black and neon green laces that work towards the tongue tag, replacing the Diadora branding for “The Young Bucks” text. On the quarter panel, more neon green and black shades appear, though this time in the form of a zebra pattern while the heel overlay continues the toebox’s splatter pattern. Bringing more neutral tones to the upper, the leather mudguard, heel overlay, and suede collar come in a stark white shade. Finishing the entire design is a white Diadora branded midsole paired with a black rubber outsole.
The Young Bucks x Diadora Basket Mid is set to release exclusively through Champs Sports online and in-store on September 28th, 2022. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $100.
