This week marks the return of two original Air Jordan 1 High colorways from 1985, the Bred and Black Toe variants. While the Bred ‘85 has been limited to just 23 stores in the US, making it hard to come by stateside, the Black Toe Reimagined, originally slated to release in October 2024, will be a much easier cop. If the updated lettering or $180 price tag scares you away from getting the high-top version, Jordan Brand will launch another Black Toe AJ 1 later in the year with a low-top version.
This isn’t the first time in recent memory that JB has given us a variant of the Black Toe colorway on the AJ 1 Low, as in September last year, the ladies got a velvet-covered version of the colorway. For this new pair, coinciding with the AJ 1’s 40th birthday, Jordan Brand again opts for a material change, giving the black mudguard and eyestays a nubuck makeover. Contrasting this are hits of white leather on the toebox and midfoot, while the collar and heel come in university red.

Another notable change is the jeweled Wings logo on the heel, as the logo traditionally comes with an embroidered or stamped finish. Completing the upper are black hits on the lace set, tongue, and sockliner, and the red Jumpman logo embroidered atop the tongue. Finishing the design is the white rubber midsole paired with a red rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 1 Low SE Black Toe will release in June 2025 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s and GS sizing, the retail price is $125 and $110, respectively.
