The French Blue colorway, originally released in 2004, has become a staple for fans despite not being one of the original 1997 colorways worn by Michael Jordan during his playing days. While MJ himself never sported the French Blue iteration, this sneaker has gained legendary status through appearances on the feet of NBA stars like Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, and Gary Payton. Last seen in 2016, Elden Monitors and House of Heat have reported that this beloved colorway will return in Fall 2025.
The Air Jordan 12 Retro French Blue is known for its clean and classic design that merges premium materials with iconic branding. The upper features a mix of tumbled leather and faux reptile skin, with most of the sneaker dressed in crisp white, tumbled leather. French Blue hues are applied to the mudguard’s faux reptile texture, continuing onto the midsole and outsole, creating a strong visual contrast.
Additional accents include a grey Jumpman-branded plastic tab along the side, metallic silver eyelets, and the iconic Jumpman logo in blue on the tongue. The outsole rounds out the look with a tricolor combination of red, white, and blue, adding subtle detailing that ties the entire design together.
The Air Jordan 12 Retro French Blue will release on August 16, 2025, through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. The retail price is set at $200 in men's sizing.
