New Balance created a modern classic when it launched the 9060 in 2022. Since this initial release courtesy of Joe Freshgoods, the model has become a staple in NB’s lineup as multiple collaborations and dozens and dozens of inline colorways have hit shelves. On top of this, exclusive SMU (special makeup) renditions have also found their way to retailers, as with a new Shoe Palace-exclusive iteration of the 9060 that follows up on their previous exclusive 9060.
The silhouette’s Y2K-inspired design remains at the core, but this SMU colorway expands upon this by adding cyberpunk influences. This is evident through the sleek black and grey color palette applied to the model, accented by pops of white on the outline of the midfoot N logo, the embroidered NB text on the heel, and the branding window atop the suede tongue. Material makeup adds textural contrast to the model, with the base layer taking on a diamond-shaped mesh, overlays coming in textured synthetic leather, and pops of shiny fused TPU film on the overlays spanning the toebox and collar.

Final details on the upper include the TPU heel counter, black suede paneling on the eyelets, vamp, and heel, and 3M reflective details on the overlays. Inside, the insole contains a cyberpunk-inspired graphic featuring a 3D rendering of a cube and what appears to be computer code. Down below, the model features its chunky midsole and outsole setup in white, dark grey, and black.
The Shoe Palace-exclusive New Balance 9060 Black Silver will release on March 28, 2025, through Shoe Palace online and in-store. Available in full-family sizing, the retail price is $150 for men, $110 for GS, $95 for PS, and $80 for TD.
