For Nike, the Dunk silhouette has reigned king of their footwear offerings for the last 2 or so years, creating high in-demand and instant sellout colorways within this time frame. Though 2022 has seen a downward trend across the board with many sneakers not seeing the same demand they once had, The Swoosh still has plenty of Nike Dunk Low colorways on the horizon, as seen on the upcoming Nike Dunk Low '85 Green.
Covered in suede across its entire upper, sans the double Swoosh detail on the midfoot, a two-tone grey and green is the color of choice to bring us back to 1985. On the toebox, midfoot pane, and collar, a grey fuzzy suede compliments the green-shaded suede found on the mudguard, eyestays, heel overlay, and sockliner. A matching set of laces and tongues come in white with the branding up top getting reworked to include “85” text, signaling back to the year the silhouette saw its first release. As previously mentioned, the double Swoosh gets a leather treatment, though an accenting navy blue takes over one of the two. As you reach the heel tab, you’ll notice the typical Nike font is swapped for a retro design, coming in black embroidery. The insole and its graphic take on a black and gold combo respectively. Finishing off the look is the white Dunk midsole paired with a partially-recycled green rubber outsole.
The Nike Dunk Low ‘85 Green W is slated to release in August 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is $120.
