Caitlin Clark’s love for Kobe Bryant sneakers is well-documented. The Indiana Fever star phenom not only professed her love for the Black Mamba’s signature sneaker line but has also received her own PE versions of his sneakers. In between the wait for her sneakers, Clark will continue to wear Kobes, and she continued this trend with her appearance in Nike’s latest ad campaign, So Win, by rocking a pair of the upcoming Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low Protro Moonwalker.
Initially released in 2014 during the Kobe 9's original run on the market, the return of this purple-based Kobe 9 Elite Low marks the first time it has hit shelves in the upgraded Protro form. As with all Protro Kobes, the sneaker retains its signature look, featuring mixed mesh and Flywrite in various purple hues on the upper. Accenting this are metallic silver Swoosh logos on the midfoot, a white Kobe sheath logo on the tongue, and black details on the nylon lace loops and mesh sockliner.
More black accents are on Kobe Bryant's signature, applied above the sheath logo on the tongue, carbon fiber, and black foam midsole. However, the pair Clark is wearing in this campaign photo is slightly different on the outsole, as the original came with a semi-translucent icy blue finish. In contrast, her pair appears to opt for a darker outsole. As for the Protro upgrades, Nike equips the drop-in midsole with full-length React foam instead of the OG's Lunarlon cushioning and pairs this updated cushioning with a Zoom Air-laden midsole.
The Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low Protro Moonwalker will release in Fall 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $210.
