The latter half of the ‘90s produced some of the best designs from Nike Sportswear, one of which has just returned after a years-long hiatus — the Air Zoom Spridion. OG renditions galore have hit shelves, like the Metallic Silver Sport Red, Concord, and Deep Royal Blue Yellow Strike, but Nike is also playing around with new color schemes for the sneaker.
Pictured here is the Barely Volt Hot Punch colorway of the Nike Air Zoom Spirdion, a non-OG release inspired by the late ‘90s and early 2000s color palettes. Essentially, Nike envisioned what an original sample lost to time would look like if unearthed today to inform its design for this brand-new color scheme. The bright and bold colors of the era shine through on the midfoot, and the Swoosh and nylon patch on the tongue are rendered in hot punch.

Even brighter hues of volt green line the edge of the collar and run around the sneaker, passing by the volt green sockliner. Below the grey mesh netting is a barely volt green mesh. A black synthetic mesh mudguard wraps around the entire upper, while the mini Swoosh near the toe is embroidered in matching black, allowing it to blend in seamlessly. Final details include a blue nylon pull tab on the heel, 3M piping throughout the upper, and a vintage-inspired foam midsole and outsole.
The Nike Air Zoom Spirdion Barely Volt Hot Punch will release on April 29, 2025, exclusively via Nike NBHD retailers and Nike SNKRS online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $160.
