Although he has been adjacent to the sneaker scene for decades and had his hand in collaborative projects here and there, Japanese pop artist and icon Takashi Murakami finally launched his independent footwear design with the Ohana Full-Bloom. After the initial colorway dropped in March 2024 and a handful more launched throughout the year, Murakami officially launched his brand, Ohana Hatake, which now hosts drops for his slide designs. For its latest color, the Full-Bloom gets a red Tigerlilly makeover.
The EVA foam-based slip-on comes with Murakami’s iconic flower design on the forefoot strap, coated in a vibrant red hue that matches the rest of the design. The contoured footbed features TM/KK copyright text, a common motif among the Japanese artists' creations. Floral-inspired patterns also come as part of the sidewall, appearing like petals when viewed from specific angles. Finishing the design is the wavy foam outsole.
The Ohana Full-Bloom Tigerlilly will be released on February 8, 2025, exclusively through Takashi Murakami’s Ohana Hatake website for $120. Right now, a draw is open to enter, with entries closing on release day at 6 AM PST/9 AM EST.
