Nearly two years into their partnership, A-Cold-Wall* and Dr. Martens are once again returning to the first silhouette they tackled together. This time, however, the 1461 Bex Low Oxford takes on a softer leather finish — a choice that makes the shoe’s hard lines stand out all the more.
Tumbled nubuck makes up the upper for options in black or grey, which both take on the more aggressive lines that were introduced late last year. Also returning from that collaboration is the zipper that replaces lacing, as well as the silver rivets that have been a mainstay since the very beginning of the collaborations. A-Cold-Wall*’s logo comes debossed near the heel at the lateral sides, while the familiar heel pull appears on both variants. The black version of the 1461 gets the Doc's traditional yellow welt stitching and air-cushioned rubber, but the grey opts for white stitching and a more translucent, grey-ish rubber. Both soles, however, are slightly taller than usual and have a more rugged tread in the Bex shape.
The A-Cold Wall* x Dr Martens 1461 Bex Lows will release May 25 through both brand’s websites, as well as select retailers such as End. Clothing. Available in men’s sizing, both pairs will retail for $285.
