While the sneaker world is used to hearing stories of heist and theft in the supply chain, recently highlighted by a story involving multiple train robberies in California and Arizona that included pairs of the Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 4 Brick by Brick, retail storefronts have been dealing with similar issues for years. A Ma Maniere, the boutique owned by James Whitner’s The Whitaker Group, has had its Atlanta location broken into overnight.

In a video posted on Instagram by reesescrazyworld, we can see the glass door ripped off the hinges and a metal barrier kicked in, allowing whoever committed this crime access to the store. It doesn’t appear that the clothing or sneakers have been stolen, at least in this short video, but it’s likely that the robbers went to the stock room to take pairs of sneakers or articles of clothing.

This isn’t the first time thieves have hit A Ma Maniere’s Atlanta location; there have been five similar incidents over the last decade. In February 2024, two separate robberies by the same duo occurred within a few days, totaling over $15,000 worth of clothing and sneakers. Two years prior, the store dealt with a burglary that involved the back brick wall being busted in, and in 2015, two separate break-ins took place in three months.

As of this writing, there has been no police report or official statement regarding the robbery, but as soon as more information becomes available, we’ll keep you posted. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app for more updates on the latest happenings in the sneaker and streetwear world.
