The split between Ye and adidas has left a huge hole in both the sneaker market and in adidas pockets as it was recently reported the German sportswear giants are set to be down $500 million because of the fractured partnership. Even though we no longer will receive any new adidas Yeezy products, The Three Stripes is still the owner of all design patents for silhouettes developed during the partnership and intends to use these as strictly “adidas” products. Already getting our first glimpse at the adidas 350 “Granite,” Private Selection has just revealed to the world photos of the first adidas 500.
Keeping the OG construction found on the “Super Moon Yellow” colorway, this particular colorway uses some similar shades to the first 500 to be released as the suede panels along the toebox, eyestays, and heel come in a pale yellowish-green hue. Contrasting this, a monochromatic grey color dresses the various nubuck and leather overlays and continues onto the thick mesh underlay. As for the tongue and lace set, this grey hue continues while the sockliner deviates slightly with a different grey shade that is closer to the suede overlays. Like the adidas 350 recently seen, we can expect the insole and box to forgo any Yeezy branding. Underfoot, the iconic adiPRENE+ sole unit borrowed from one of Kobe Bryant’s early adidas basketball models comes in white and finishes the look.
The first adidas 500 is set to release in 2023 through adidas Confirmed and select Three Stripes retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $210.
