Archival silhouettes have become a significant trend in the last few years with brands reviving models that fell to the wayside years back, however, they find a new home in the modern-day landscape of sneakers. While adidas’ adiFOM Q isn’t exactly an archival silhouette, its inspiration is (claimed to be) from the adidas Quake from the early 2000s yet has drawn comparisons to the adidas Foam RNNR due to its construction. Already seen in various color schemes, a brand new “Grey Two Bright Royal” rendition is headed our way.
Taking on a two-piece construction made up of a foam exoskeleton and internal neoprene bootie, a monochromatic grey covers the entire foam shell while bright royal takes over the internal portion and laces. This outer portion comes in an organic-like design with various cutouts along the midfoot portion providing some breathability with the aforementioned lacing system that keeps the internal bootie in place. Branding details for The Three Stripes can be found atop the neoprene tongue and heel with Trefoil logos and adiPLUS text denoting the cushioning system used within. Underfoot, you’ll notice a plug near the heel of the rubber outsole that allows you to remove the neoprene bootie and possibly swap it out if you happen to own multiple pairs of the adiFOM Q.
The adidas adiFOM Q Grey Two Bright Royal is set to release in 2023 through adidas and select Three Stripes retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
