Said to be inspired by the archival adidas Quake model from 2001, the adidas adiFOM Q has rightfully been compared to another (former?) adidas model, the Yeezy Foam RNNR, due to its organic shape and use of foam throughout the sneaker. Despite the criticism online, adidas has continued to release colorways via select retailers at the tail end of 2022, however, we’ve yet to see a major release through adidas itself or the Confirmed app. Maybe this will change going into 2023 with the upcoming adidas adiFOM Q “Halo Blue.”
Composed of an internal Primeknit and neoprene bootie as well as a foam exoskeleton, the sneaker, as mentioned previously, draws its inspiration from the adidas Quake model with its curvy and organically shaped exoskeleton. This portion comes covered in a light blue hue adidas dubs “Halo Blue” and contrasts sharply with the black found on the internal portion of the silhouette. Cut-outs throughout the profile of the sneaker provide a window into the inside while Trefoil branding details appear atop the neoprene tongue and back on the heel counter. For cushioning, an adiPLUS sole unit is attached to the Primeknit and plugs into a hole on the wavy rubber outsole - allowing you to swap different portions between multiple colorways once you remove the laces.
The adidas adiFOM Q Halo Blue has already seen a small release through select retailers across the globe with a wider release through adidas set for 2023. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
