With each new iteration of Donovan Mitchell’s signature sneaker, the D.O.N. (Determination Over Negativity) series has continued to evolve, showcasing Mitchell's growth on the court and his influence. The latest addition to his lineup, the adidas D.O.N. Issue #6, first appeared during the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend. Following its official launch in July, adidas is now gearing up to drop the SPIDA BITE colorway this August.
The adidas D.O.N. Issue #6 SPIDA BITE is a testament to Mitchell's aggressive playing style and nickname, Spida. The sneaker features a sleek black knit upper that delivers flexibility and support. Black TPU overlays reinforce the toe area, ensuring durability for quick cuts and explosive movements. The upper edge and tongue are lined with black synthetic material, accented by bold red hues that make the sneaker look striking. One of the standout design elements is the split-color tongue, which transitions from blue on the right side to black and then into red, adding a dynamic visual contrast. Subtle adidas branding is found on the midfoot, with a tonal black Three Stripes logo that features 3M reflective material, ensuring visibility even in low light.
Performance-wise, the adidas D.O.N. Issue #6 SPIDA BITE doesn't disappoint. The sneaker has a black midsole that houses adidas' LIGHTSTRIKE and LIGHTSTRIKE PRO cushioning technologies, providing a responsive and comfortable ride. An orange propulsion plate enhances stability and support during intense play, while the black rubber outsole offers excellent traction on the court.
The adidas D.O.N. Issue #6 SPIDA BITE was originally set to release on August 15, 2024. After a small delay, they will drop on September 5 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
