Jerry Lorenzo's journey in the fashion and sneaker industry is marked by deeply personal narratives and collaborations that resonate with his past experiences. Having spent part of his youth in South Florida, where his father coached the Miami Marlins, Lorenzo's connection to the area inspires his latest creation under the Fear of God Athletics label in partnership with adidas. Following the reveal of the Indiana University pair and the adidas Fear of God Athletics 1 Clay, Lorenzo introduces a special homage to South Florida with the Miami Hurricanes colorway of the FOG Athletics 1.
The adidas Fear of God Athletics 1 Miami Hurricanes is a celebration of Lorenzo's ties to South Florida, expressed through the lens of high-performance athletic wear. This new variant maintains the silhouette's original design ethos, featuring engineered mesh and no-sew overlays predominantly in black, mirroring the OG pairs and the Indiana University version. The vibrant pop of green on the toe box sets the Miami Hurricanes edition apart, a nod to the iconic school's colors.
The midfoot showcases the Three Stripes, inspired by the archival adidas Predator. This detail pays tribute to adidas' heritage and seamlessly integrates into the shoe's modern aesthetic. The sole unit has been meticulously retooled for basketball performance, replacing the traditional rubber with foam for enhanced cushioning. At the same time, the outsole is designed with a traction pattern optimized for grip, ensuring that the sneaker is as functional on the court as it is stylish off it.
The adidas Fear of God Athletics 1 Miami Hurricanes was originally slated to release on February 23, 2024, but will now release on April 4 exclusively through Fear of God's website. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $250.
