Jerry Lorenzo shocked the world when word of his departure from Nike and alignment with adidas under the Fear of God Athletics banner was announced. While the journey toward product releases was long, we were finally treated to a rollout in December 2023, with footwear and apparel launching in tandem. Following a handful of small capsules, the second drop occurred earlier this month with the Athletics 1 model and LA Runner getting new Clay colorways. Now, the duo is launching a new model as part of the next drop with the adidas Fear of God Athletics 86 Hi in Sesame.
First teased at the Fear of God fashion show at the Hollywood Bowl in April 2023, this high-top iteration of the '86 silhouette boasts a puffy construction that envelopes the foot, crafted entirely from premium nubuck in a serene sesame hue that exudes versatility and understated elegance. Including thick rope laces in a matching tone and an elongated tongue that continues the nubuck theme enhances the sneaker's cohesive look. TPU reinforcements on the heel and a subtly debossed Trefoil logo on the heel tab add structural integrity and a touch of adidas heritage. The design is completed by a chunky platform sole unit in cream, complemented by Fear of God branding on the heel, elevating the sneaker's profile and ensuring lasting comfort.
The adidas Fear of God Athletics 86 Hi Sesame will release on April 3, 2024, through Fear of God, adidas, and select retailers online and in-store. As of this writing, the pricing details have yet to be announced.
