The original adidas NMD disrupted the sneaker world with its cutting-edge aesthetic and ultra-comfortable features, and the latest entry for the series continues the tradition. As with many new designs from adidas, the upcoming adidas NMD_G1 brings sustainable practices to the forefront while maintaining elements from the OG NMD.
As part of adidas' commitment to reducing plastic waste, the NMD_G1 is fashioned from at least 50 percent recycled materials. The shoe reintroduces the signature textile upper and adds reinforced overlays to deliver enhanced durability without compromising on the NMD's signature sock-like fit. TPU stripes adorn the midfoot, and leather eyelets secure the laces. Additional adidas branding comes on a perforated leather heel panel. Underneath, the NMD_G1 stays true to the original design with an exposed Boost midsole with TPU plugs. The color palette varies across five versions made for launch, with most sticking to neutral shades.
The adidas NMD_G1 has seen a release overseas, with a U.S. launch set for July through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
