The Revamped adidas NMD_S1 Appears In Ice Mint And Onyx

adidas had a hit on their hands when they first introduced the NMD model in the mid 2010’s. From limited colorways to Pharrell getting his own version via his Human Race line, the explosion of NMDs and Ultraboosts eventually died down later in the decade. As a way to revive the hype, the model has been entirely revamped with the introduction of the adidas NMD_S1 “Ice Mint Onyx.”
Constructed with an “Onyx” dressed Primeknit upper, the silhouette borrows from a handful of adidas models to achieve this futuristic look. One can see the Yeezy influence from the lacing system, using a similar knit eyelet as the Yeezy 450. The slip-on silhouette also uses a TPU plastic window on the midfoot, appearing to borrow from the Yeezy 350s recent affinity for TPU stripes. Overlaying the TPU is a fused Three Stripes logo found on each side of the sneaker. The collar of the silhouette features a loose knit, allowing for easy slip-on. Down underneath, a full length BOOST cushioning system is housed by an Ice Mint rubber midsole with redesigned EVA foam plugs paired to an Ice Mint outsole featuring bulky Tre-Foil logos for traction.
The adidas NMD_S1 Ice Mint Onyx is scheduled to release through adidas Confirmed and select adidas retailers on February 25th, 2022. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $180.
