Halloween-themed releases are a significant part of sneaker culture, with just about every brand prepping designs to commemorate the spooky holiday. As Nike prepares to launch pairs like the Kobe 5 Protro X-Ray, Giannis Freak 6, and the kids' exclusive Dunk Low Trick or Treat, Jordan Brand adds to the festive lineup with a special Air Jordan 1 Low.
The Air Jordan 1 Low SE Halloween features an all-over black finish, exuding a spooky vibe perfect for the season. The upper showcases a multi-color fiery graphic that enhances the Halloween spirit. Adding to the eerie aesthetic, fuzzy suede details are present on the collar and lace set, aligning with what appears to be a Black Cat theme. This theme is emphasized by an LED cat eye attached to the tongue, which emits a green light when activated. More premium details include the 3D metallic Jordan wings logo on the heel and a fang design on the toebox. Underfoot, the sneaker has a black midsole and a glow-in-the-dark rubber outsole, completing the Halloween-inspired design.
Included in the packaging for the pair is a custom trading card featuring a spider with wings and Chinese characters that roughly translates to "Flying Pig Of Fortune." It's likely not meant to be a literal translation but akin to the saying "when pigs fly" to mark a rare or impossible occurrence. Also, in Chinese culture, spiders are considered good luck, with the creature believed to have descended from the heavens.
The Air Jordan 1 Low SE Halloween GS will release in October 2024 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in grade school sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
