New York City is known for many things. Whether it’s the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle or the $1 hot dog stands, there’s one thing in particular that everyone always associates the Big Apple with, and that’s the vibrant yellow taxis that zoom around the city, day in and day out. While Jordan Brand has been inspired by this mode of transport before, most recently on the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Yellow Toe,” the freshly-announced Air Jordan 1 Low “Taxi” is now getting the cabbie treatment - and here’s your first look!
One of our favorite Lows ever made, the “Taxi” is clearly influenced by NYC cabs. Made from a smooth leather construction, the base is painted in white while panels of yellow make their way across the toe box, lacing system, and tongue. Black accents adorn the ankle and heel, where you’ll find the legendary winged basketball insignia. Jumpman logos hit the tongue and insole, and rounding it all off is a clean white midsole underfoot.
The Air Jordan 1 Low Taxi is set to release in September 2022. It will drop at Nike, as well as select retailers worldwide, in-store and online. Coming in men's and GS sizing, men's pairs will retail for $110.
