With the 30th Anniversary celebrations of the Air Max 95 underway, we’re expecting a ton from Nike. This includes a return to the “big bubble” build, retros of OGs like the Neon, and collaborations with Yu-Gi-Oh! and Nike SB. The OG Blue Spark is joining the array of retro colorways making a comeback.
Although not the original blue-accented colorway from 1995, the Blue Spark colorway of the Air Max 95 was first released in 2011. It is a shade similar to the OG but retains the classic greyscale gradient upper we’ve come to know and love. Here, suede paneling appears on Sergio Lozano’s human anatomy-inspired overlays, going from light to dark as you work from top to bottom.

The titular blue spark hue is applied to the nylon lace loops, Air Max branding atop the tongue, and the Swoosh on the lateral collar, the latter outlined in black. Final details include the white net mesh over the eyelets, white mesh on the tongue, black foam midsole, and blue-shaded Air units in the heel and forefoot. For this retro, expect the “big bubble” build instead of the smaller Air unit in the heel that has become commonplace among Air Max 95 releases for years.
The Nike Air Max 95 OG Blue Spark releases in August 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $180.
