Since 1985 the world has been enamored with the Air Jordan 1, MJ’s first signature silhouette that kicked off his illustrious career in the NBA. While many look to the model's original High or Low cut versions, Jordan Brand’s mid-top cut introduced in the 2000s has had a semi-strained relationship with sneakerheads. Even if many look down upon the AJ 1 Mid, more colorways are headed our way, with the latest coming in a sleek "Black Royal Blue" colorway.
Across the upper sits a combination of smooth black leather and royal blue leather panels, the latter found on the toebox, quarter panel, and collar. Black leather overlays along the mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlays allow these vibrant blue hits to shine. Branding details, like the iconic Swoosh on the sides, come in black, while the Jordan Wings logo on the ankle comes in metallic blue. A Jumpman logo in the same hue is featured atop the black tongue, contrasting nicely with the black shades surrounding it. Rounding out the design is the white midsole with a royal blue tint on the outsole.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid Black Royal Blue will be released in September 20th, 2023, through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers. The retail price is $125 for men's sizing, $110 for grade school, $75 for preschool, and $60 for toddlers.
