Jordan Brand is no stranger to experimenting with materials. You name it, they've used it. They have used and combined it with other materials, some that you wouldn't think work together. One recurring material often seen on holiday releases is velvet. Models like the Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 11 have received makeovers utilizing this material dating back almost a decade. With the Air Jordan 1 Low Velvet Black Toe and Air Jordan 11 Retro Bred Velvet, another pair has joined them to ring out the year: an Air Jordan 1 Mid.
Also, a women's exclusive, the Air Jordan 1 Mid Red Velvet, comes in a clean white and varsity red colorway. Premium white leather underlays pair nicely with the red velvet overlays, giving off a festive vibe that even Santa or Mrs. Claus would rock. A white mesh tongue provides breathability and is covered by red laces. The Air Jordan Wings logo on the ankle is chromed out in red, while the branding on the tongue and insoles comes in white. A classic AJ 1 tooled midsole in white sits atop a solid red rubber outsole to complete the look.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid Red Velvet W was released today, September 20, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women's sizing, retail is set at $135.
